Knowing Stem Cells as a key of future human healing

Baba Health Tips

rrStem cells are cells that have the ability to renew and restore. These cells can be classified as multi-functional cells by restoring effect, removing the damaged cells, even renewing the organ. Stem cell method for diabetes based on its ability to restore and renew the damaged pancreatic cells so as to reduce the use of insulin in the long term.

What is the stem cell?

The human body has hundreds of different types of cell and these cells are important for our health every day. These cells are responsible for keeping our bodies work every day, such as making our hearts beat, our brain can think, kidneys cleanse the blood, replacing the peeling skin, and others.

Why stem cells are important for health

When we are wounded or sick, our cells will also be injured or die. When that happens, the stem cells will become active. Stem cells have the duty to repair or replace injured tissues and other cells when those undergo routine death. With the development of technology and a wide range of researches, the sciences finally revealed that the various types of chronic disease and “hopeless” illness such as cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, psoriasis, Parkinson’s, and others can be managed with the use of stem cell therapy.

Specific characteristic of stem cells is a very strong ability to self freezing and do potential differentiation, so the best seeds of β cell (insulin secretion by pancreatic β cells) will increase the number of pancreatic β cells and prevent the decline in pancreatic β-cell function to save and restore the function of the pancreas. Stem Cell consists of various types. For example, our blood is created of blood stem cells (also known as hematopoietic stem cells). However, stem cells are also present in the earliest stages of human development. Steam cell found in the earliest stages of human development is the embryonic stem cell.

There are few Stem Cell functions in changing the function of the pancreas, including:

1. Activate sleeping pancreatic cells and restore the functionality

2. Improve Pancreatic β cell sources with direct improvement in β-cells.

3. Improves insulin secretion of cells

4. Increase the insulin receptor and reduce the role of insulin resistance.

5. Increase the body’s levels of insulin secretion to open a new cycle of metabolism. It is a form of comprehensive diabetes care.

The use of stem cells in the treatment of diabetes refers to diabetes mellitus type 1. In this disease, Langerhans beta cells are not produced, causing a shortage of insulin in patients. The insulin should play a role in maintaining the homeostasis of carbohydrates.

To treat the disease, methods of stem cells are needed for Langerhans cells transplantation to meet the needs of insulin. About ten years ago, the number of successful stem cells surgery was about only 8% of the overall surgery. This was due to high rejection reaction, so that patients required steroid intake, whereas the greater steroid needs, the greater the metabolic needs of the insulin-producing cells.
