Mauritian Prostitution In Reunion Island: A Couple Sentenced To 18 Months In Prison


A Mauritian, Corinna Cornet, and her companion, a French were pinned. They had both estabkished a prostitution network in Reunion Island. Last Friday, April 1, they were sentenced to 18 months of prison and a fine of 10,000 euros at the Criminal Court of Saint Denis. This news has been published in the Journal of the Reunion Island.

Their modus operandi was: they were bringing prostitutes from Mauritius Island so that they operate in Reunion Island. Then they shared the money received among themselves. Even the sister of the accused allegedly worked for the couple.



This small scheme lasted from 2011 to 2012 and handed the operation to another couple. The second couple, who operated for two months, more precisely between April and June 2012, was sentenced to six months of prison and fined 1500 euro.
