Passengers of an Airbus A380 and crew of Malaysia Airlines were slightly injured by severe turbulence encountered by the plane linking between London and Kuala Lumpur on Sunday, announced the Malaysian airline.
The airplane with 378 people on board (MH1 flight) was briefly shaken by strong turbulence above the Bay of Bengal in the Indian Ocean.
“Due to strong turbulence, passengers have suffered minor injuries. A small number of passengers and crew members was treated by medical teams,” according to a statement on arriving at Kuala Lumpur.
Photos posted on social networks show aisles of the plane littered with leftover food, beverages and other cases from the overhead lockers.
