Safety at sea: Wearing A Life Jacket For Outings In The Lagoon Is Not Mandatory

This was the statement by the Chief Inspector Vikash Purlackee of the National Coast Guard in the Tempo La So emission last Monday. He says that according to the Tourism Authority Act, the wearing of life jackets is mandatory only on the high seas. He also added that the skipper is the captain and the passengers must follow his instructions.

Jean Claude Dardenne, boaters and tour operator, said that passengers who are under the influence of alcohol do┬ánot meet the skipper’s instructions.
