A foreign expert was injured on Tuesday morning June 28 while examining the Liberian bulk carrier MV Benita in Le Bouchon.
He was airlifted to the central barracks in Port Louis before being transported in a private hospital. The nature of his injuries is still unknown.
The MV Benita is still stuck between the reefs in Le Bouchon. The ship, which was en route to Durban in South Africa after leaving India, failed off the southeast coast of Mauritius on Friday, June 17 after a dispute between two crew members.
